Pictum Croton This decorative plant belongs to a large variety of Codiaeum Variegatum, a very formal way of naming all crotons and that is its most popular name. Euphorbia Pulcherrima
Known as one of the most noticeable and attractive indoor plant, because its contrasting leaf colors, this ornamental foliage is usually used as the symbol or perfect decorative plant during the Christmas (or holiday) season.Receiving the slanting rays of sunlight over its rough and veined leaves, it is possible known in detail their form and structure of their red and green foliage.
Interesting sort of things, especially if you are linked to the botanical area to know here about photoperiodism, that turns the top leaves into a hot red color from the former green one.
This picture was taken before the changing process of its top superior leaves which turn into the characteristic intense red hue named photoperiodism; that takes a period of time of some months.
Trying to show off quite in another way the Poinsettia, I chose to take this one, after a rainy period and during cloudy weather. Notice a small central leaf in the middle of changing from green to red.

Croton Mammy This is a perennial and ornamental plant easy to grow indoor and in spite of the lack of light; it is also considered a tree, because its stem is woody and reaches several meters high in indoor or outdoor gardens. Its scientific or formal name is Codiaeum Variegatum, but a more popular name is Corkscrew Croton. Corkscrew croton with some light green color leaves contrasting with the older ones displaying brown colored foliage and, illuminated by the sun, showing fine drops of rain.
