Snake Plant


Viper's bowstring hemp

Its formal or Latinised name is sansevieria trifasciata and known with popular names of mother-in-law's tongue and snake plant. As a large succulent plant it is easy to take care of and since it have thick foliage is also drought tolerant.
The stiff and quite large water-storing leaves could display an unusual type of decorative plant. Notice the yellow borders of this particular subspecies and the motifs or patterns on its blade surfaces.


Quite the same image as abobe but showing closer the gold edged blades of this evergreen perennial plant. A very interesting thing about this plant: it is considered as a filter against pollutants in internal spaces.


Almost the same way, again, as the two images above, but you can now appreciate this snake plant in a more clear view its long rigid leaves or blades right from a higher position.


Of course, there are several ways to arrange these rigid vertical sort of leaves; this is the most common arrangement. Note that these type of succulent plants can resist from wilting for a long time.
